Digital disruption refers to technological advancements that change conventional, already-established procedures. Digital disruption occurs along with the rapid development of digital technology and the Internet. Nowadays, digital disruption has caused changes in a variety of aspects such as personal and social lives, work, business and the general industry as well as education and knowledge.
The presence of the Internet, applications and digital contents have changed the way knowledge is stored, provided and disseminated. The library as one of the knowledge management institutions is not i... see moremmune to changes caused by this phenomenon. This causes the library to reorganise its strategy in which they manage and provide knowledge in order to answer these challenges, that is through the construction of a digital library.
Currently, the 'digital library' network in Indonesia is hosted by Forum Perpustakaan Digital Indonesia (FPDI), entering the stage where digital libraries are seen as having an impact on people's lives at through multitudes of role. One of the roles of digital libraries related to the latest general developments in the global community is the effort to disseminate knowledge in the era of digital disruption. Digital libraries are seen as having an important role in ensuring knowledge dissemination through providing access to information, communication and information technology facilities, assistance for the community in the development of information utilisation capacity, and preservation of information for today's digital generation. This is the basis of Konferensi Perpustakaan Digital Indonesia with the theme “Mobilisasi Pengetahuan Melalui Perpustakaan Digital di Era Disruptif” at this 11th conference (KPDI 11) in 2018.
