Perhimpunan Ahli Teknologi Pangan Indonesia engages in Food Technology whose scope includes the application of basic science including chemistry, physics, and microbiology as well as the principles of engineering, economics and management in the entire chain of cultivation of food since harvested until consumed. The chain of cultivation of food includes aspects of raw material handling, processing, preservation, packaging, storage, distribution, quality control, safety, reliability, and the construction of new food products, as well as nutrition and public health.
