Institut Agama Islam Ngawi, formerly known as the Islamic College (STAI) Ngawi has officially switched status in accordance with the Decree of the Director General of Education No. 608 of 2016 dated February 1, 2016. IAI Ngawi, previously named STAI Ngawi, was established in Ngawi on September 4, 2008 and has its own building located at Jalan Ir. Soekarno (West Ringroad) No. 99 Ngawi and its conception was initiated by scholars, education experts, Islamic law experts and Islamic practitioners in Ngawi District.
At present, the Ngawi Islamic Institute has 6 Study Programs which are divided into 3 Faculties. The study programs are Islamic Education Management, Raudlatul Athfal Teacher Education, Ahwal Al-Syakhsyiyah, Islamic/Muamalah Economic Law, Shari'ah Economy and Zakat and waqf which are developed in accordance with the competencies in the field of science to face the global era.
