Organisasi ini bernama Asosiasi Pendidikan Teknologi dan Kejuruan Indonesia, yang disingkat dengan APTEKINDO, dideklarasikan pada tanggal 16 Februari 2002, di Tawangmangu Surakarta. APTEKINDO merupakan asosiasi institusi pendidikan tinggi yang menyelenggarakan pendidikan calon guru pendidikan teknologi dan kejuruan, Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan, Program Diploma, Politeknik dan Lembaga Diklat di Indonesia. Organisasi ini bertempat kedudukan di tempat kedudukan Ketua Organisasi tingkat nasional.
