Background: The morgue is part of the hospital that is often forgotten, because many people think that a dead person cannot transmit the disease. Embalmer is the person who has the highest risk to get an infection acquired from the mortuary. Level of educationis one of thethingsthatcanaffectthe level ofknowledge.Aim: The aim of this study was to analize the relationship between embalmers level of education with the level of knowledge about infection acquired from the mortuary.Methods: This study was an analytical survey with cross sectional approach, using the embalmer as survey respondents. 20 respondents were chosen with consecutive sampling method at mortuary in Semarang and surrounding areas period November 2013 to April 2014. The respondents were instructed to fill the questionnaire and tested the result with SPSS program for Windows.Results: There were 18 male embalmers and 2 female embalmers. Also, there were 13 people who have low level of education and 7 people who have high level of education. Data could not analyzed with chi square test because there were 2 cells with expected count value < 50%, so the data were analyzed with fisher's exact test and the result show the value of p = 0.017. Therefore, there was a significant relationshipConclusion: There was significant relationship between embalmers level of education with the level of knowledge about infection acquired from the mortuary. Education is a process of learning. Higher levels of education may be associated with the ability to remember and understand the information.
