Peningkatan Pemahaman Materi Akuntansi dengan Metode Talking Stick dan Snowball Throwing di Kelas XI IPS 2 SMA Xxx Tahun Ajaran 2013/2014

Abstrak

THE IMPROVEMENT OF ACCOUNTING LEARNING UNDERSTANDING WITH TALKING STICK AND SNOWBALL THROWING METHODS IN THE XI IPS 2 GRADERS OF SMA NEGERI 1 NGEMPLAK IN THE SCHOOL YEAR OF 2013/2014.The objective of research was to improve the accounting learning understanding of the XI IPS (Social Science) 2 graders of SMA Negeri 1 Ngemplak in the school year of 2013/2014 using talking stick and snowball throwing methods. This study employed a classroom action research. The subject of research was the XI IPS (Social Science) 2 graders of SMA Negeri 1 Ngemplak consisting of 22 girls and 6 boys. The data used in this action research were quantitative and qualitative ones. Techniques of collecting data used were interview, direct observation, test and documentation. The data validation was conducted using source and method triangulations. The test validation was carried out using content validity technique. The quantitative data analysis was done using descriptive comparative statistic technique. Meanwhile the qualitative data analysis was conducted using interview and direct observation. The research procedure included: (1) problem identification, (2) action preparation, (3) action plan development, (4) action implementation, (5) observation and interpretation, (6) reflection, and (7) report writing stages.The result of research showed that the application of talking stick and snowball throwing learning method could improve learning understanding of students. It could be seen from the improved absorbability on teaching material, students' understanding in class and group discussions, and the students' correctness in developing question and solving the test problem from the teacher. In prior action stage, the proportion of students fulfilling the Minimum Passing Criteria (KKM) was 32.14% (9 students) and those not fulfilling was 67.86% (19 students).In cycle I, the proportion of students fulfilling the Minimum Passing Criteria (KKM) increased to 85.71% (24 students) and those not fulfilling was 14.29% (4 students). In cycle II, the proportion of students fulfilling the Minimum Passing Criteria (KKM) increased to 96.43% (27 students) and those not fulfilling was 3.57% (1 student). From the result of research, it could be concluded that the application of talking stick and snowball throwing learning method could improve the accounting learning understanding of the XI IPS 2 graders of SMA Negeri 1 Ngemplak.
