Analisa Kekuatan Tarik Komposit Nylon-Polyester Dengan Variasi Fraksi Volume Serat

Abstrak

The aim of this study was to determine the effect of the fiber volume fraction i.e 40%, 50% and 60%, on the mechanical properties of the nylon fiber composite polyester under static tensile load. The highest tensile stress of 7.07 MPa was obtained from specimen with fiber volume fraction of 60% while the lowest tensile stress of 5.52 MPa occurred in composite with a fiber volume fraction of 40%. The maximum tensile strain of 1.005 was obtained from the specimen with 50 % of the volume fraction, while the minimum tensile strain of 0.926 was obtained from the specimen with 60% of fiber volume fraction. The highest modulus of elasticity was 0.0076 GPa where obtained from specimen with 60% of fiber volume fraction. From the observation results, it shown that the failure of the specimen happened due to fiber pull out mechanisms
