Postpartum depression is one type of depression that occur in the mother after delivering baby. This study is a quasi-experimental research, with Non-equivalent Control Group to analyze the influence of psychoeducation intervention in overcoming postpartum depression. Population in this research is amounted to 110 mothers and Research sample is 60 post-partum mothers each group as 30 people who were given treatment, and 30 persons as control group with the stated criteria of postpartum depression. The sampling is purposive sampling. Analysis of data using Pair Test and logistic regression to the extent the confidence level 95%. Results of research shows there are 48.4% mothers had postpartum depression after the psychoeducation intervention. Postpartum depression decrease 65% after the psychoeducation intervention. Pair-test results there is a difference between postpartum depression mother with psychoeducation intervention with a mother who does not get psychoeducation intervention and logistic regression test showed no relationship between age and job with post partum depression and there is a significant relationship postpartum mother education (p = 0.003), mother parity (p = 0.016) and the husband support (p = 0.000) with postpartum depression. Suggested need to improve health education on postpartum mothers in a hospital in Medan, and it is necessary to give education to the family or the husband who accompanies his wife during the labor.
