Katingan is one of the regencies in Central Kalimantan which famous for its diversity of local durian (Durio zibethinus). The objective of the research was to determine the potential diversity of durian in Katingan. Characterization was done on the parental tree of local durian, popularly known as Durian Kasongan. Six cultivars of local durian from Katingan namely Ubuyu, Lagas, Belimbing, Susu, Bukit Lime, and Kalasi were characterized from June–November 2013 and SeptemberDecember 2014. Characterization was done using descriptor for durian. The data collected were analyzed using principal component analysis (PCA) to reduce the number of variables for genetic similarity/cluster analysis. The results showed that leaf morphology contributed to the cumulative diversity of 98.4%. In addition, the cluster analysis showed that six local durians have the genetic similarity which range of 44.90–72.45%. The highest genetic similarity was between Lagas and Susu cultivars (72.45%).
