Abstrak

Stress on natural resources was caused by population growth with all its activities. Finally, the condition often arises degraded land and turned into a critical area that threatens the welfare of society. Women as individuals closest to the affairs of the kitchen will feel the greatest impact. The population of women more than men is an important factor to consider its role as part guarding the successful implementation of land rehabilitation and soil conservation. In this regard, the purpose of this study was to determine (1) Support of women toward the implementation land rehabilitation and soil conservation in sub-watershed Pupuan, Tabanan, (2) The factors that affect women's support in the implementation of land rehabilitation and soil conservation in sub-watershed Pupuan, Tabanan, dan  (3) Constraints faced by women in supporting the implementation of land rehabilitation and soil conservation in sub-watershed Pupuan, Tabanan regency. This research was conducted as a case study. The population of this study are all women who have been married and worked as a farmer in the subdistrict of Pupuan, Tabanan regency. Sampling was done by purposive sampling, with a total of 150 women respondents who work as farmers. Data were analyzed using quantitative and qualitative analysis presented in the form of individual cases as a representative for every aspect of the problem. Based on these results, we conclude that (1) Support women to land rehabilitation and soil conservation are in the high category, (2) factors that have a real relationship with the support of women to land rehabilitation and soil conservation in the watershed Pupuan is a factor of women's educational level and land tenure status, while the factors that has no real connection with the support of women to land rehabilitation and soil conservation is a factor of female age and number of family members, and (3) Constraints faced by women in the implementation of land rehabilitation and soil conservation in the watershed Pupuan, namely field difficult, the implementation time in the morning, male domination, difficulties in obtaining plant seeds, and a weak mastery of technology. Based on the conclusions of this study, it is recommended that all women maintain and even increase its support to the implementation of land rehabilitation and soil conservation in the watershed Pupuan.
