Analysis of Factors Affecting Entrepreneurial Interest of Vocational High School Students in Pekanbaru

The highest unemployment rate (TPT) in Indonesia is from graduated of Vocational High School (SMK), which is 9.27%. This phenomenon cannot be separated from the low interest of entrepreneurship. SMK graduates are expected to be able to work directly and can open employment area; the fact is far different from expectations. This study aims to analyze the factors that affect student entrepreneurship interest in SMK. The population of this study was 1845 students of class XII SMK Negeri in Pekanbaru City. The sampling method used in this research was Simple Random Sampling so that it obtained 329 students. The data collection used questionnaire with Likert scale that is suitable for exogenous variable (entrepreneurship interest), endogen variable (entrepreneurship education and family environment), and intervening variable (personality). The data analysis technique employed the path analysis method. The results of the analysis show that entrepreneurship education, and family environment have positive and significant influence on entrepreneurship interest through the personality. This shows that interest in entrepreneurship can be enhanced if the quality of entrepreneurship education, family environment and student personality are improved.

Mind-mapping for Conceptual Material of Introduction to Management

Students with difficulty in comprehending conceptual materials need media that has powers in organizational, procedural visual, and supporting creative thinking; all are integrated in a mind-mapping media. This research is aimed to develop a learning design of Introduction to Management based on mind-mapping media concerning with conceptual materials. This is an early phase of research and development activities, in Introduction to Management class. Data of needs analysis is obtained through survey technique on 38 college students, then followed by literature study and focus group discussions. The result shows that a learning design of Introduction to Management, that highlights conceptual materials, has constructed on the basis of mind-mapping media. The design consisted of learning outcome, stages of preparing mind mapping media, and measurement method of effectiveness of the learning design implementation.

Accomplishment Motivation and Soft Skill Related to Learning Achievement

This study aims to determine the influence of achievement motivation through the role of soft skills to the learning achievement. This research was conducted due to the low achievement motivation of students at Economic Education Program Study, University of Riau. A total of 185 samples were selected from 344 number of population using Yamane statistical sampling technique. Data was collected by questionnaire and documentation techniques. It was then analyzed using path analysis. The results showed that Soft Skill played a positive role mediate that influence of accomplishment motivation on learning achievement. This means that learning achievement is not influenced by achievement motivation alone, but also supported by soft skill as intervening variable. In order to achieve achievement motivation students should have a successful future oriented attitude. Meanwhile, to improve soft skill students must have the ability to communicate, adapt and build relationships obtained from the ability of ICT and foreign languages.

Integration of Tauhid (Faith) Element in Biology Education

Tauhidik science is one of the Islamization of Knowledge efforts in the field of education. This effort was initiated by many Islamic scholars to fight against secularism. To implement the elements of faith (Tawhid) in Science Education, Al-Qur'an is the ultimate guide. The aim of this concept paper is to describe the elements of faith in biology education. In this concept paper, the definition of Tauhidik Science is specified. Next, the strategy of integration of Tauhidic element in Biology is explained. The concept paper also proposes that the implementation of elements of faith made in more in-depth for each subtopic studied. The implementation of Faith element in Science Education is expected to produce a generation whose life is guided by the Quran and have Ulul Albab thought which means having a deep rooted knowledge and strong belief to Allah s.w.t, thus forming the next generation that brings prosperity to the mankind.
