—MDI (metered-dose inhaler) containing Ipratropium Bromide is used to control COPD symptoms. Improper use can trigger unwanted effects, so it takes the role of pharmacists in helping explain how to use it. The purpose of this study was to determine the completeness of the explanation by pharmacists in pharmacies regarding how to use MDI containing ipratropium bromide. This research method is cross-sectional with purposive sampling, using an observation technique in the form of a checklist. The sample in this study were pharmacists at pharmacies in East Surabaya. The data obtained will be processed by descriptive analysis. The research sample was 22 pharmacists. The results showed that all pharmacists were able to explain the steps for opening and closing the inhaler. In addition, the steps for holding the inhaler (21 pharmacists), the sub-step closing with the lips (20 pharmacists), the step of placing the mouthpiece between the teeth and breathing (18 pharmacists), the step of cleaning the mouthpiece (15 pharmacists), the step of exhaling slowly (14 pharmacists), the breath holding step (13 pharmacists), the exhaling step during preparation (12 pharmacists), the sub-step putting the tongue under the mouthpiece and the slow inhalation step (11 pharmacists).
