Abstrak

The purpose of this study is to look at the effectiveness of the Positive Parenting Program (Triple P) to reduce the dysfunctional parenting to parents who have children with special needs. Subjects were parents that have children with special needs, with the diagnosis of children with autism and ADHD. This samples base on the results of the assessment showed symptoms of negative emotions when caring with their child.Triple P adapted and modified from Subekti (2010) material provided consisting of psychoeducation about understanding Positive Parenting Program Triple P function to improve the social skills of children and how to perform self-regulation of emotion and reflection. Measuring tool used is dysfunctional parenting scale of Subekti (2010) .The result showed that the statistical test with different test Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test with SPSS 18.0 for Windows shows the probability value 0.167 (p> 0.05). It can be seen that there is no change in dysfunctional parenting between the groups before and after training of Triple P.
