Introduction: Dengue fever is contracted by Aedes aegypti is a disease which always occurs every year in particular area in Indonesia. One of the ways to avoid from occurring is to use repellent that prevalently made of actively synthetic chemical substances. In this case, needed researches for searching safe and effective natural repellent, one of them is selasih. The aimed of this research is to find out the effectivity of selasih as repellent towards Aedes aegypti mosquitoes, which could decreased the number of dengue fever disease. Methods: The research was a true prospective experimental laboratory study and comparative, using Non Randomized Sampling method with Quota technique. Using 300 Aedes aegypti mosquitoes as sample, which divided into 6 different treatment repeated 3 times, which given selasih infusion on 10% (S10), 20% (S20), 40% (S40), 60% (S60), aquadest (control) and DEET 12,5% (standard). The mosquitoes were put in a glass box. Observed data were taken by the number of mosquitoes which moved to the opposite of the untreated glass box. The data were analyzed using one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) followed by Tukey HSD test with a = 0,05. Results: The results showed that between S10 and S20 also between S20 and S40 had significant difference and the other treatment, had very significant difference of mosquitoes which moved to the opposite of the untreated glass box. Conclusion: The selasih infusion had repel effect to mosquito.
