Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran kontekstual berbasis cerita rakyat terhadap kemampuan membaca pemahaman dan minat baca pada siswa kelas V SD di Gugus V Kecamatan Sukasada. Rancangan penelitian ini adalah Post Test Only Control Group Design. Jumlah populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah 127 orang dan sampel berjumlah 64 orang. Data kemampuan membaca pemahaman dikumpulkan menggunakan tes pilihan ganda dan data minat baca dikumpulkan menggunakan kuesioner. Data dianalisis menggunakan MANOVA berbantuan SPSS 17.00 for windows. Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa yang mengikuti model pembelajaran kontekstual berbasis cerita rakyat lebih baik daripada siswa yang mengikuti model pembelajaran konvensional, 2) minat baca siswa yang mengikuti model pembelajaran kontekstual berbasis cerita rakyat lebih baik daripada siswa yang mengikuti model pembelajaran konvensional, 3) secara simultan, kemampuan membaca pemahaman dan minat baca siswa yang mengikuti model pembelajaran kontekstual berbasis cerita rakyat lebih baik daripada siswa yang mengikuti model pembelajaran konvensional.

This study was aimed at investigating the effect of folklore-based contextual instructional model toward the fifth grade elementary school students' reading comprehension and reading interest at the fifth group of elementary school (gugus) in Sukasada District. Post Test Only Control Group Design was used as the research design that involved 127 populations, and 64 of them became the samples. The data about the students' reading comprehension was collected through multiple choice test , while the data about the students' reading interest was gathered from questionnaire. The data was analyzed using MANOVA with the assistance of SPSS 17.00 for windows. The result shows that 1)the students taught using folklore-based contextual instructional model had better reading comprehension then those who were taught using conventional model; 2)the students taught using folklore-based contextual instructional model had better reading interest then those who were taught using conventional model; 3) simultaneously , the students taught using folklore-based contextual instructional model had better reading comprehension and reading interest then those who were taught using conventional model.keyword : Keywords: Contextual Instructional Model, folklore, reading comprehension, reading interest
