This research is based on the problem because the decreasing of welding work productivity for certain period of time which indirectly will cause loss for company and can cause delays in the process of completion of new ship building and ship repair repair process. Therefore, the researcher wants to apply the Absenteism design (Attendance of welding employee) to know the level of work productivity. The research method used in this research is descriptive quantitative method and qualitative descriptive method. Qualitative descriptive research that is using the file written and directly through notes, interviews, and take the final result of the conclusion of the analysis conducted. Quantitative descriptive research is the measurement of a phenomenon with supporting data in the form of numbers. In this research is expected to be able to analyze whether there is influence absenteism welding employee to work productivity and know about absenteism employees welding to work productivity at PT. DOK dan Perkapalan Surabaya (Persero). From result of research can be seen that result of calculation of total employee analysis (K1-K15) from amount of absence (X) and amount of productivity (Y) in February 2017 - July 2017 obtained value by calculation technique of simple linear regression analysis using computer program SPSS for Windows Release 23 is the value of coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.657, so that the variable absence rate affects 65.7% of the total employee work productivity variables (K1-K15). An error probability (p) value of 0,000 <0,05 is also obtained. Then Ho is rejected and Ha accepted, which means variable absence rate significantly affect the total work productivity of employees (K1-K15) on the welding of construction at PT. DOK dan Perkapalan Surabaya (Persero).
