Abstract

The aim of this research is to know the influence of the problem based learning model aided by metacognitive question on mathematics achievement of students in terms of achievement motivation. This research is a quasi experimental research with 2 x 2 factorial designs conducted at SMP Negeri 2 Sukawati and involved a sample of 90 students. The sample of this research was determined by random sampling technique. The instrument use in this research was achievement motivation questionnaire and mathematics achievement tests. The data Collected were analyzed using two way ANAVA. The results showed that: 1) mathematics learning achievement of student who follow learning using problem based learning model aided by metacognitive questions is better than students who follow the model of problem-based learning. 2) At students with is a achievement motivation high or the motivation low achievers, mathematics learning achievement of student who follow the learning with learning model problem based learning aided by the question metacognitive better than students which follow the with model of problem-based learning. 3) There is no interaction between the model of learning in terms of achievement motivation.
