Abstract

: Diabetes mellitus is a disease with one of the signs and symptoms are frequent urination in large quantities during the night which will have an impact on the quality of sleep and blood glucose levels in patients with diabetes mellitus. Sleep effective in diabetic patients is needed to repair damaged cells, including beta cells that function to produce insulin. Purpose is determine the relationship between sleep quality with fasting blood sugar levels in patients with Diabetes Mellitus Type II at Pancaran Kasih GMIM hospital Manado. Design Research use cross sectional study Sampel using purposive sampling and Slovin's role with a sample 68 people. Result of Statistic Chi Square with a confidence level of 95% (α = 0.05) and obtained 0,000 p value <0.05. Conclusion result of this research there is the relationship between sleep quality with fasting blood sugar levels in patients with Diabetes Mellitus Type II at Pancaran Kasih GMIM hospital Manado. Recommendation can be used as a reference for patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus to improve sleep quality and maintain fasting blood glucose levels.
