Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran problem solving berbasis budaya lokal terhadap motivasi berprestasi dan prestasi belajar IPS. Sebanyak 60 siswa kelas VIII SMP Lab Hamzanwadi Selong dipilih sebagai sampel. Pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner untuk motivasi berprestasi dan tes pilihan ganda untuk prestasi belajar IPS. Data dianalisis menggunakan Manova. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa : (1) terdapat perbedaan motivasi berprestasi yang signifikan antara siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan model problem solving berbasis budaya local dengan siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan model pembelajaran konvensional (2) terdapat perbedaan prestasi belajar IPS yang signifikan antara siswa yang mengikuti model pembelajaran problem solving berbasis budaya local dengan siswa yang mengikuti model pembelajaran konvensional (3) terdapat perbedaan motivasi berpretasi dan prestasi belajar IPS secara simultan antara siswa yang mengikuti model pembelajaran problem solving berbasis budaya local dengan pembelajaran konvensional.Kata Kunci : Problem Solving Berbasis Budaya Lokal, Motivasi Berprestasi, Prestasi Belajar IPS This study aims at finding the effect of problem solving based learning model of local culture on achievement motivation and social study achievement . A total of 60 eighth grade students of SMP Lab Hamzanwadi Selong selected as a sample. Data collections used were questionnaires of achievement motivation and multiple-choice tests for student achievement. Data were analyzed using Manova analysis. The results show that: (1) there is a significant difference of achievement motivation between students who learned with the problem solving model with the local culture and students who learned with conventional learning model (F = 76.441 for, df = 1, and sig = 0.000), (2) there is a significant difference of social study achievement between students who learned with the problem solving model with the local culture and students who learned with conventional learning model, (3) there is a significant difference of achievement motivation and social study achievement between students who learned with the problem solving model with the local culture and students who learned with conventional learning model.
