Abstract

Leathertanning industry produced wastewater contained of heavy metalc Chromium that can be dangerous for the environment. One of the methods to remove Crin wastewaterwasused Extracellular Polymeric Substances (EPS) that extracted from the activated sludge. This research was done withused EPS that immobilizedinpoliesterresin as biosorbent and used artificial waste water with concentration of 15,9 ppm. This research was done in continuousand circulation process with variable of pH 5,6,7 and the flows were 3,5,7ml/min for 5 hours. The result showed that the best ofremovalefficiency happened inpH7 and,the flow 3ml/min was 99,80% with the adsorption capacity was 4,284mg/gEPS-polyester.
