Research-based learning is the solution to carry out two main activities in the Tri Darma Perguruan Tinggi, namely education and teaching; and research as well. This study based on the results of the evaluation of lecturers on the implementation of research-based learning that has been implemented. There are two learning scenarios, ie research-based learning with standardized methodology of research, and research-based learning with unstandardized methodology of research. This study is a qualitative research. Data were collected through interview, observation, focus group discussions, and study of the document as well as validated by triangulation. Data were analyzed by Miles and Hubberman qualitative data analysis. The results showed that the research-based learning with a standardized methodology has the advantages on scientification of research results, understanding of research methodology, and more intersted by high grade of students. While the research-based learning without a standardized methodology has the advantages on goal orientation, creativity, understanding of substantial material, and more attractive for low grade of students. For that, generally recommended to lecturers to implement research-based learning in order to achieve the education and the teaching and research as well. While specifically, it is recommended to lecturers to implement research-based learning with a standardized methodology for final year students, or in order to develop the ability to draw up the scientific work or provide methodological understanding of the student. While the research-based learning without the standardized methodology implemented in the course that followed by the initial level students, or in order to develop the ability to achieve goals, develop the creativity of students, and to provide a substantial understanding of the material is better for students.
