The objective of the study was to Analyse drug - consumption pattern by the community and to study related influencing factors. The study was done in three selected provinces, each of them represented by one regency, i.e. Lombok Barat (Prov. of NTB), Soppeng (Prov. of Sulawesi Selatan) and Lamongan (Prov. of Jawa Timur). Data were collect ed through household interviews. The result of the study showed that average self treatment by using drugs occured twice every six months (or 2,09 times/month). The drugs most frequently used were paracetamol, traditional drugs, and metampiron, as well as antibiotics, sulfa and corticosteroids. The influencing factors related to self treatment were pregnancy (r = -0,0078) and level of sickness (r = -0,0798). Hopefully the control of drug - distribution activities (councelling, reporting and monitoring) can be done by the Health Centre it self.
