The study was intended to disseminate and to test the effectiveness of integrated communicative verbal folklore based Javanese teaching and learning at elementary schools as the manifestation of culture conservation. The study used experimental research design. The subjects of the study were the teachers and the students of elementary schools in Semarang and in Banyumas. The results of the study suggested that the teaching and learning design was effective. The learning outcome of the experimental class was better than controlled class and the performance of the experimental class during the teaching and learning was more active, enthusiastic, and creative. According to the teachers' opinion, the teaching and learning did not only teach the language, literature, and cultures but it also built the characters. Besides, this teaching and learning could be considered as an alternative of the conservation of Javanese cultures.
