The grounded qualitative research was intended to produce a construction model of good character building according to The Best Practice of Character Building which was implemented in the best elementary schools in East Java. The results of the study suggested that the visions of schools were informed to all people involved in the schools then were understood, and the commitment to realize the visions was built. Based on the visions, character building activities were planned through the teaching and learning in the classrooms, the cultures of the schools, the extracurricular activities, and the involvement of the parents as well as the society. It could be concluded that the implementation of character building could build good characters in the elementary schools.
