Abstract

The classroom action research was intended to build the Indonesian characters of the students through the implementation of value clarification technique by using folklore. The subjects of the study were 32 fifth graders of Public Elementary School 03 South Pontianak West Borneo. The data was collected by using observation and interview. The results of the study showed that the value clarification technique by using folklore could build the Indonesian characters of the students. It could be suggested that the implementation of value clarification technique by using folklore should be promoted to use during the teaching and learning in order to build the Indonesian characters of the elementary school students.
