 Chicken eggs have a high-quality protein so there are many kinds of food using it as processed food ingredients. But not all eggs have a quality or good quality and freshness. Based on SNI 3926: 2008 the quality of eggs is divided into three namely quality I, quality II and quality III. Egg identification is used to determine the quality of chicken eggs that include internal quality and external quality. One aspect of the external quality of chicken eggs in terms of cleanliness of eggshell is the presence or absence of dirt on the chicken eggshell. A clean egg has a different eggshell texture with a dirty egg. In this study, the identification of the quality of chicken eggs based on the hygiene of chicken eggs using the artificial neural network. The texture of egg image extracted using second order statistics include second moment angular, contrast, correlation variance, inverse different moment, entropy. The value of the extraction results is then used for training with the training data of 25 eggs of quality I, 25 eggs of quality II and 25 eggs of quality III. The result of this research is 93,33% accuracy which states that artificial neural network can identify egg quality based on egg hygiene well.   Keywords: classification, eggshell texture, accuracy
