This research based on the low of ability to reading comprehension in elementary school students. In this case, students need to be equipped with the skills required in the 21st century one of them is 'literate' information. The low ability of reading comprehension of student because strategy of reading applied by teacher less effective so that students difficulty in solve issue at text reading and students become passive, apatis, and bored. Therefore, this research will apply the critical multiliteracy model with Directed Reading Thinking Activity (DRTA) model to know the influence of ability reading comperhension of nonfiction students. The method used in this research is quantitative research. The type of this research is quasi experimental method with the design of the matching pretest-posttest design. The sample of school used in this research is SDN 01 Sukahati as the experimental class that amount to 29 students and SDN Sukamantri as the control class that amount to 39 students. The instrument used in this research is the assessment sheet of the ability reading comprehension students of nonfiction. Based on the research that has been done, it is found that there is a significant difference to ability reading comprehension of nonfiction between students that acquire critical multiliteracy model with Directed Reading Thinking Activity (DRTA) model, but the critical multiliteration models are more effective in improve of ability comprehension reading of nonfiction students of elementary school. Based on the description, the research recommend the application of critical multiliteracy model for use in nonfiction comprehension reading learning, because it can motivated students to literate on factual information that occurs in their environment.
