Abstract

This reseach is motivated by lower reading comprehension skills of Elementary School based on PISA and field reality founding especially in Sub Cileunyi. This reseach is to know different reading comprehension skills between experiment class that used Quantum Teaching learning model with controlled class that use Cox learning model. This reseach did to view most the effective learning between Quantum Teaching and Cox. Quantum Teaching model is a learning model pushed to context and content in meaningful learning activity to makes harmony at learning. This reseach use Quasi-Experimental method with (the matching) pretest-posttest design. Sample in this reseach is student of fifth grader Cileunyi 02 and Sukahaji 02 Elementary School. Data Analysis tehnicque used data analysis quantity with SPSS 17.0 software. Based on data analysis, the student at early reading comprehension skills between experiment class and controlled class is equivalent, while after do the posttest have been a different reading comprehension skills between experiment class and controlled class. That result get from posttest both of them with T-test, viewed the level of signification is 0,045. Then it can be knew that (0,045>0,05), The conclusion, there is having significantly different reading comprehension skills between student used Quantum Teaching learning model with Cox learning model. Related to the exposure already expressed, using of Quantum Teaching model is more effective in improving students' reading comprehension skills than using Cox model.
