Abstract

Taking background from the problem of the lack of ability of learners in creative thinking caused by several factors, including the lack of active involvement of learners in the learning process. In addition, teachers also do not facilitate the learning activities of learners in order to stimulate the creative thinking ability of learners. Therefore, the study was conducted with the aim to see the effect of experiential learning model on the creative thinking ability of learners compared with using conventional learning. The population studied was elementary school located in Cileunyi sub district by taking sample of 60 students at Neglasari State Elementary School 01. The research method used was quasi experiment with non equivalent control group design. Data collection is done by using creative thinking ability test in the form of description. The analysis is done in a quantitative way, by analyzing the pretest, posttest data and calculating the N-gain value. Based on the results of research that has been conducted shows that there is a significant difference to the ability of creative thinking between learners who learn by using experiential learning model compared with using conventional learning based on the test results difference of two average which yields value of 0.004 which indicates the difference of thinking ability creative thinking ability result of N-gain also shows the influence of using experiential learning model on creative thinking ability, that is obtained by N-gain value 0,61. And at the control class is only 0,46.
