This research was conducted the effect of using of jurisprudential inquiry model on student civic participation 5th grade elementary school. This research is based on the formation of student civic participation from early age through student activity in class using jurisprudential inquiry model. This research is a quantitative research using quasi-experimental method. Population in this research that is all student of 5th grade SD Negeri 2 Gembongan and SD Negeri 1 Gembongan, with amount of sample in each class counted 19 student. 5th grade student of SD Negeri 2 Gembongan as experimental class is given learning by using jurisprudential inquiry model while 5th grade of SD Negeri 1 Gembongan as control class is given learning by using conventional model. Data collection techniques in this research using questionnaires and observation sheets that previously been tested the validity and reliability test. Data analysis technique used is normality test, homogeneity test, difference of two averages test and normalized gain test. Based on the results the average difference one sample test at normalized gain data students who gain learning with jurisprudential inquiry model and conventional model shows that there is an increase in students' civic participation ability after obtaining learning with jurisprudential inquiry model and conventional model. In addition, on the results test the average difference t of two samples est at the normalized gain data can be seen that there is a difference in the ability of civic participation among students who gain learning with jurisprudential inquiry model and conventional model. This can be seen from the average of normalized gain of students who obtained learning with jurisprudential inquiry model of 0.44 while the average gains of normalized students who obtained a conventional model of 0.21.
