Abstract

The main requirement of the occurrence of a communication is the interaction between communicators. Acommunication can not be separated from aspects of verbal and nonverbal aspects. Verbal aspects ofcommunication in essence were common in the communication process. But for many people, less attentionnonverbal aspects of his position in the communication activities. In fact, nonverbal aspects also have animportant role in communication activities.Nonverbal aspects of communication basically have a lot of types, one of which is kinesic. The study ofbody activity that is the focus of this study. Kinesic a study to learn about the activities of the body whichincludes facial expression, eye contact, hand gestures, and movements of the whole body. Particular aspects ofnonverbal communication can be analyzed kinesic basically meaning and function in communication activities.Accordingly, this study discusses the form, meaning, and function kinesik in the communication.1Kinesik Guru Mengajar di Kelas (Studi Kasus Pada Tya)Kinesic or activity of the body has its types. Type of kinesic include kinesic facial (facial expression, eyecontact), kinesic gestural (some body movement), and kinesic postural (whole body). Research on kinesic isessentially based on the theory expressed by Ray L.Birdwhistell. In the theory, Ray L. Birdwhistell argues that"perhaps no more than 30% to 35% of the social significance of the conversation or interaction made withwords". In theory, Ray delivered seven basic assumptions in theory trigger, one that all the activities of the bodycan be analyzed meaning. Accordingly, the focus of this research will discuss about the form, meaning, andfunction kinesic in communication.Communication in the context of this research is the activity of teachers teaching in the classroom.Context of communication based on the educational background of researchers who are struggling in the worldof education, and one that is in communication kinesic use in education when teachers are presenting thematerial.This study used a qualitative descriptive method. Thus, all forms of bodily activity that emerged from theteachers will analyze the form, meaning, and function. The content were derived from the activities of the bodyor kinesic arising from Tya which is the object of research. This research is a case study.In their analysis, the researchers obtain content on the activity of the body that occur when teaching in theclassroom as much as 35 kinesic forms. Classroom teaching activity duration approximately one hour with 35kinesic shapes results in accordance with observation. Of the 35 kinesic forms obtained, 29 in the kinesic formare postural kinesic type, 3 shape facial kinesic, and gestural kinesic are 3 forms. All content will be analyzedkinesic emerging based on form, meaning and function in the learning process in the classroom. As what hasbeen described, communication is never free from verbal and nonverbal aspects, so although this study focuseson aspects of nonverbal, verbal aspects that go with it remains to be seen as a context for communication to arisemeanings and functions in accordance with the existing context.
