Abstract

Think-Pair-Share learning modelis onemodel thatwas developedtoenhancestudent'smasteryofthe academiccontentof the material thatis taughtthroughthreestages, namelyThink(Berfikir),Pair(Berpasangan), andShare (Berbagi). Based on a survey of students who take the class X lessonBrake Systems in SMK NU-1 Bustanul Ulum taken at random, it seems that students do notunderstand the teacher's explanations, learning activity is still dominated by the teacher's role as ateacher rather than as a facilitator of learning so that the interaction between teachers and studentsrarely occurs which then have an impact on student achievement. Research purposes to find outhow much improving student learning outcomes and student learning activities with cooperativelearning methods Think-Pair-Share (TPS).This type of researchis aClassroom ActionResearch(Penelitian Tindakan Kelas). So inusing theapplicationcycle, consistingofI, IIandIII cycles.The data obtainedfromthis studywill beanalyzed bydescriptivequalitativequantitativemethod.Results from this study is the application of learning model Think-Pair-Share(TPS) in subjects in class X Brake System TKR at SMK NU Bustanul Ulum Lamongan canimprove student achievement. This is indicated by the increased learning outcomes, the Pre test of35 students, 10 students who achieved mastery Minimum Standards (SKM) ≥ 75, the first cycleincreased to 17 of the 35 students who achieved mastery SKM with the percentage of 48.57%Penerapan Metode Pembelajaran Think-Pair-Sharegrade, on second cycle up to 28 of the 35 students who achieved mastery SKM with the percentageof 77.14% grade, and the third cycle 33 of the 35 were able to achieve ≥ 75 SKM with thepercentage of 94.29% mastery class. The percentage of teachers in the management of learningactivity also increased, in the first cycle 65.07%, 73.74% second cycle and third cycle of 79.2%.Aktvitas the percentage of students also increased, 52.7% in the first cycle, the second cycle72.24%, 76.61% and third cycle. Barriers in the learning process using a model Think-Pair-Share is,(1) Teachers still need to learn use learning model Think-Pair-Share, because there are steps thatmust be done in this learning model (2) Students are still awkward taught by new teaching methodsthat have been applied in schools (3) Students are less thorough in answering the questions in thequestion (4) Lack of utilization of time in working on the Post test, so that students are less accuratein reading and understanding the question.
