This research aims to produce a decent module used in learning Hand Tool in the MechanicalEngineering Department of SMK Negeri 2 Surabaya. This type of research is the development ofresearch. The method used in the model of development adopted the 4D (Four - D Model) which consistsof four phases: definition (define), stage design (design) and stage of development (develop). In thisresearch who were the respondents are 9 teachers SMK 2 Surabaya, 3 teachers' as well as teachingcompetence of Hand Tool expertise in the Department of Mechanical Engineering SMKN 2 Surabaya and12 students of X TPM 1 in the Mechanical Engineering Department of SMK Negeri 2 Surabaya. Theresearch instrument used to collect data in the form of sheets and sheet test questionnaire. Data analysiswas performed to determine the feasibility and effectiveness of the learning module generated Hand Tool,as well as to study the response of teachers and students about Hand Tool modules developed.Based on the results of the study, it was shown that the learning modules developed Hand Tool fit for usein study subjects Hand Tool. It can be seen from the results of the validation module by 9 teachers SMK 2Surabaya engineers, linguists, and experts design which is equal to 4.28, and the percentage of teacherresponses to the module at 86.34%, and the percentage of student responses by 84.16 %, in where theresults when interpreted on a Likert scale, in the criteria valid and very well. Hand Tool learning modulesdeveloped also been shown to improve student learning outcomes X 2 TPM 1 SMK Surabaya. This isindicated by the results of pre-test before to application modules and post-test after the application ofmudul there is a difference, the value of the post-test better than the pre-test value, as evidenced by tcountobtained 9.10, this result is greater than the critical value distribution of t = 1.7966.
