Abstract

The research was about the application of problem based instruction on IPA integrated theme of iron corrosion for class VII State Junior High School 1 Bungah Gresik. This research goal was to describe the implementation of problem based instruction, the learning post test result, and the response of the students. The research was done with the draft ”One Shot Case Study”, and done by descriptive analysis. Population of this research was all the VII grade students of State Junior High School 1 Bungah academic year 2012-2013. Sample used in this research was class VII A. Data on this research was data of implementation of problem based instruction, data of posttest results and data of students’ responses. Based on the data analysis, it can be obtained the average of the observation in implementation learning in meeting I and II respectively are 3,50; 3,65 so that the average of meeting I and II are 3,58 which means that the implementation of problem based instruction performing well 100%. Students’ learning completeness by providing a test of the study result were obtained 87% of students have been completed. Students’ learning outcomes in the psychomotor and affective aspects of each are 84,56% and 83,13%. Students respond very well to the problem based instruction in an integrated science learning with iron corrosion theme with percentage 90% who answered positively.
