Research on the implementation of Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach to overcome misconception on photosynthesis process aimed to describe the misconception profile on photosynthesis process, describe the teaching learning process, describe the activity of students, and describe the student achievement. Research design was one group pre-test post-test design, which was analyzed of descriptively. This research has been accomplished in two meetings with the number of research subjects 32 student of SMP Negeri 1 Babat. The result shows that the largest percentage of misconception that plant conduct the respiration during the night and conduct the photosynthesis during the day as that of 56%. The most strong of misconception experienced in students are the concept that only the green leaves are able to conduct photosynthesis process, that is known from the value of CRIS of 3,11. The steps of teaching learning process in RPP have done well. The most dominant students activity is listening teacher explanation with the average percentage of 35,80%. There was one student who could not master the content during the pre-test, it could with classical mastery of 3,12%, while 29 student could master the content during the post-test with classical mastery of 90,63%. From these result be concluded that the CTL approach could overcome the student misconception in photosynthesis process.
