Abstract

This Research aims to describe a circumstance of learning, critical thinking skills of the student, and their response for implementation of  integrated science learning in isotonic drink theme with Contextual Teaching and Learning  (CTL) to practice critical thinking skills at eighth grade school. The type of research is quasi experiment with “one shot case study” design. The subject of this research is VIII-F grade students on 2013-2014 school period. The data was analized quantitative decriptively. Based on data analized, discovered that implementation science learning in isotonic drink theme with CTL by the teacher has evenly 3,68 score and included to “well” criteria. The result of this learning showed that there are 3% student with “very critical” criteria, 20% student with “less critical” criteria, and 77% student with “critical” criteria. Moreover, the students are giving “positive” response for this learning in all of aspect questioned. Thus, it can be concluded that implementation of integrated science learning in isotonic drink theme with CTL could used as a method to practiced critical thinking skills on eighth grade school, but it needs more practicing phase to be a skilled critical thinking’s student.
