Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe and analyze the results of the application of scientific approaches undertaken by teachers or educators to increase communication skills, collaboration skills, and student learning outcomes in class XI TKR SMK Krian 2 Sidoarjo. The research was limited to the subject vehicle engine maintenance light with matter to understand/maintain/repair the gasoline fuel system. The scale of measurement used by the researchers is a Likert scale with 4 possible answers were used to examine adherence to the corresponding RPP curriculum in 2013, questionnaires communication skills, collaboration skills questionnaire, and then test the learning outcomes that have been created by teachers in conjunction with researchers. The results described into numbers and then analyzed which indicates whether or not to increase the ability to communicate, collaborate, and learn the results of student of class XI TKR 1 of SMK Krian 2 Sidoarjo. The results in this research show that teachers have to apply scientific approach to implementing the RPP corresponding curriculum in 2013 to the category very well prepared. Then the results of the application of the scientific approach that has been applied by teachers show that there is an increased ability to communicate, collaborate, and learning outcomes of student of class XI TKR 1 of SMK Krian 2 Sidoarjo. The ability to communicate class XI TKR 1 increased by 21.19%. While the ability to collaborate class XI TKR 1 increased by 24.74%. Increased ability to collaborate is because often teachers divide the students into groups when lab work conducted so as to create a cooperation/collaboration among students. Then the learning outcomes of students of class XI TKR 1 increased learning outcomes of students of class XI TKR 1 amounted to 22.81%.
