Abstract

This research aims to describe implementation, student learning achievement, and student response on Problem Based Instruction (PBI) model with SETS approach on Science learning with topic of husk briquette. This research was used pre-experimental design with pretest and posttest group design. The samples in this research were student grade VII in SMP Negeri 1 Glagah, Lamongan. Data obtained in this research were learning implementation, student learning achievement, and student response toward instruction. Learning implementation of PBI with SETS approach on topic of husk briquette was started from lesson 1 and lesson 2 with percentage of learning implementation was 100% with score 3,6 at first lesson and 3,5 at second lesson. Based on data analysis of learning achievement, it obtained normality test result calculation =  -5,20 < table = 11,1, this meant that samples distributed normally. The hypothesis test of student learning achievement with two sample t-test obtained tcalculatio > ttable which meant that there was significant difference between mean of pretest and posttest. Skill and attitude of student shows good on each assessment aspects. The average score obtained by student for skill was 3,37 and entirely completed.  The attitude field completeness also achieved with all students in good category and very good category. Classical completeness achieved, because 82% students completed individually. Learning activity in this research got good response of students, 100% students feel satisfied along Science learning with topic of husk briquettes.   Keywords: Problem Based Instruction, SETS Approach, Husk Briquette, Implementation, Student Learning Achievement And Student Response
