Based on the observations in learning Bahasa Indonesia, especially in summarizing the story in the fifth grade student has not run optimally. The result learning to summarize story given by the teacher showed that from 31 student, there were 20 student have less in comprehending the story. In summarizing the story, the students still like tell the story. The lack of students abillity to summarize story caused by the teacher not use media in the learning, so the learning be not interest. Therefore, the reseacrher conducted action research to increase the teaching of summarizing the story by using comic. The procedure for implementing the research was conducted in two cycles which include three phases: planning, action and observtion, and reflection. The research data reached from observation, test achievement, and field notes. The result of the research showed that the activity of teacher has increased. In the first cycle, activity of the teacher get 100% with the score 77,3in part 1 and 80,4 in part 2. While in cycle II, the activity of the teacher get 100% with the score 85,2in part 1 and 91,3 in part 2. For the result of reading stories test also increased, which is in the Cycle I an average was 72,1 with classical comleteness was 67,7% and in the cycle II the result test was 80,1 with classical completeness was 83,87%. The problems that arise in the learning was the use of media so little but it was can resolve by the teacher with make media more than before in process of the learning. Therefore, comic is suitable in teaching summarizing the story because it proved that can increase the learning.
