This study aims to determine the effect of learning strategies SQ3R (survey, question, read, recite, and review) with Group Resume on learning outcomes subjects of basic automotive technology class X on cognitive aspects in vocational Light Vehicle Engineering department. The design of the study is a Quasi-Experimental. The study design used is Nonequivalent Control Group Design. From the analysis of research data T count acquired to SMK 3 Buduran is -8.273, which means T count < T table or -8.273 <-1 668 at the 5% significance level and T count for vocational KAL-1 Surabaya is -5.990, which means T count < T table or -5.990 < -1673 at the 5% significance level. With this there is a significant difference between the results of the pretest and posttest experimental class or meaning a significant influence on the class who use learning strategies SQ3R with Group Resume on learning outcomes subjects Basic Technology Automotive on the cognitive aspects of class X Vocational High School, majoring in Light Vehicle engineering. While the percentage of student response value (NRS%) at SMK 3 Buduran is 79.73% and in vocational KAL-1 Surabaya is 79.50%, so it can be concluded that the response of the students in the excellent category.   Keywords: SQ3R learning strategy, the Group Resume, learning outcomes
