Based on the observation and the interview in learning Bahasa Indonesia, especially at writing description in fourth grade runs less than optimal. From the results of learning to write description given by the teacher showed that 60% of the 33 students didn't reached the minimum completeness criteria. The problem caused by the delivered of material didn't use the media. Therefore, the reseacrher conducted action research to increase the teaching of writing description by using quartet cards media. The procedure for implementing the research was conducted in two cycles which include three phases: planning, action and observtion, and reflection. The research data reached from observation, test achievement, and field notes. The result of the research showed that the implementation of learning has increased. In the first cycle, the activity of the teacher get 100% with the score 77,8 in part 1 and 79,2 in part 2. While in Cycle II, the activity of the teacher get 100% with the score 91,7 in part 1 and 95,8 in part 2. For the result of writing decription test also increased, which is in Cycle I, an average was 69,97 with classical completeness was 69,7% and in the Cycle II the result test was 81,2 with classical completeness was 84,8%. The problems that arise in learning at Cycle I are: the teacher's voice less loud, less the teacher control of classroom, the students scramble quartet cards, and the explanation of the material presented by the teadher was less clear. While in the Cycle II was not found significant obstacles.Therefore, quartet cards media is suitable in writing description because it proved that can increase the learning.
