Abstract

Knowledge has become a key drive force in our lives. Due to complicated nature of knowledge, it is difficult to estimate the value of knowledge management in academic libraries. Academic libraries occupy a central position in an institution to generate knowledge equipped academic community with knowledge to serve the society and enhance knowledge to mankind. This paper highlights the evolution of knowledge management, roles and objectives. The challenges posed to academic libraries and librarians for effective service delivery were also discussed.
