One of the efforts to develop student character can be done by building understanding in students through didactic values ??in the folklore of Putri Denda Mandalika. This study aims to determine the didactic values ??in the story of Putri Denda Mandalika S.S.T Wisnu Sasangka version and its relationship with literature learning in high school. This research is a qualitative descriptive study using descriptive analysis method. The collected data is analyzed, identified, classified and described. The data source in this research is the story book of Putri Denda Mandalika S.S.T version of Wisnu Sasangka. Data collection is done by using the literature method which is a technique that uses written sources to obtain data. Analysis of the data in this study used descriptive analysis with a pragmatic approach. The results showed that there were didactic values ??in the S.S.T Wisnu Sasangka version of Putri Denda Mandalika folklore and there was a relationship between didactic values ??found and literary learning in high school. The didactic values ??found were moral values, social values, religious values, and cultural values. Whereas the relationship between didactic values ??in the Putri Denda Mandalika folklore with literary learning in high school is the inclusion of Putri Denda Mandalika folklore as teaching material in meeting basic competency standards no. 3.7 and 4.7.
