This work explores the pattern of Muslim youth attitudes towards the study of Orientalism. The sample of the Study was students of Theology Faculty of IAIN Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi. Although there are students who look orientalism negatively, responses of students to study orientalism objectivity is also divided in several views: the average student sees Orientalism as an objective assessment, but there are also students who see Orientalism as a subjective view of the non Islamic thinker. Educational background, level of religious understanding, and academic culture are the factors that determine their perspectives on Orientalism. The more open academic culture will increasingly build their positive responses toward Orientalism. Keywords: orientalisme, respon pemuda muslim, IAIN Jambi.
