: This study aimed to describe the learning plan, the implementation of learning, assessment, and obstacles encountered during the learning process as well as efforts made by the teacher to overcome the obstacles in the implementation of Curriculum 2013 in the teaching of writing text short story in class XI SMA Negeri 2 Sukoharjo. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. This study uses a single case study approach rooted, ie research that just stuck on one subject matter that is done in the classroom. Sources of data in this study, among others, the event learning to write short stories texts, informants, and documents. The validity of the data is done by triangulation of data, triangulation method, and reivew informant. Data were analyzed using an interactive model. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of Curriculum 2013 in the teaching of writing text short story in class XI SMA Negeri 2 Sukoharjo, ranging from planning, implementation, and assessment largely in accordance with Permendikbud 22 in 2016 on the Standard Process Primary and Secondary Education and Permendikbud No. 23 on education Assessment Standards. Nonetheless, there are some components that are not appropriate. During the learning process also encountered several obstacles that arise, but the teacher has made various efforts to overcome these obstacles.
