: This research aims to produce a teaching material to read a biography text that integrated character education. The procedures of this research are analysis the educational values and the social aspect that expressed in the novel biography Sepatu Dahlan. This research is a qualitative study using content analysis method. The result of study show that educational values Sepatu Dahlan include thevalues of religious education, the values of social education, the value of moral education, and character education that integrated in their. The social aspects of the novel include: (a) culture such as system of religious, social or organizational systems, knowledge systems, language, arts, technology and equipment systems, customs, (b) economic (jobs, economic issues and solutions), (c) the typical rural life. The results of both studies show that through the value of education and socialaspects along with interviews authors, teachers, and students can be known novel Sepatu Dahlan relevance as teaching materials of read biographies for students high school class XI.
