The dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) control is still a problem in the big cities in lndonesia especially in Jakarta and surround area. At present, the only appropriate method of controlling and preventing DHF is through the vector control method, either by using insecticide or source reduction (PJN). A study on health facilities readiness during DHF out break was carried out in 2005. The study was conducted in metropolitan Jakarta (expect district of Kepulauan Seribu), Bekasi dan Tangerang. Data were collected by distributing questionnaires to be filled by sanitarian selected in health facilittes. The objective of the study is to determine how for the health facilities is ready to do vector control during the DHF out break. The result shown that the manpower (entomologist) as well as resources to vector control is very limited. While activities in relation with the vector control has been conducted both by chemical or non chemical. In several Public health centre (PHC) the use or malathion was not following the standard concentration dosage. Most of health facilities need to increase the entomologist, vector studies and vector control especially on the elimination of mosquito larva.Key words.
