Pengaruh Metode Pembelajaran Ekspositori Berbantuan Peta Tematik Dan Motivasi Belajar Terhadap Prestasi Belajar Geografi Siswa Kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Bangli

Abstract

The study aimed at finding out and analysing the effect of expository instructional method aided with thematic mapping and learning motivation towards geography learning achievement of the students at class X SMA Negeri I Bangli by utilizing a Post-test Only Control Group design. There were about 80 samples selected based on random sampling technique. The data was analysed by using two-tailed variants though F-test and followed by Tukey-test. The results indicated that: (1) as a whole the Geography learning achievement of the students joining expository instructional method aided with thematic mapping was found higher than those joining an expository method (FA=19,623 with =0,05), (2) there was an effect of interaction between instructional methods and learning motivation towards geography learning achievement (FAB=99,024 with =0,05), (3) geography learning achievement of the students having higher learning motivation when joining expository instructional method aided with thematic mapping was found better than those joining an expository method (Q=14,378 with =0,05), and (4) geography learning achievement of the students having lower learning motivation when joining expository instructional method aided with themstic mapping was found lower than those joining an expository method (Q=5,523 with=0,05). Based on the findings it could be concluded that the expository instructional method aided with thematic mapping and learning motivation could provide more effective contribution towards the improvement of geography learning achievement of the students at class X SMA Negeri 1 Bangli. The implications of the study were: (1) the expository instructional method aided with thematic mapping was one of the methods to be considered in the process of learning geographv. and 2) the implementation of zuch a method also took sfudents' learning motivation into consideration.
