Abstract

The study aimed at finding out and analysing the effect of guided discovery instructional model based on student's worksheet towards mathematic learning achievement viewed from mathematic logical intelligence for the students class X SMA N I Bangli. The population involved in this study were all the students at class X SMA Negeri 1 Bangli in the academic year of 2011/2012, by'utilizing a post-test only control group design. A total number of 80 respondents were used as the samples determined based simple random sampling. The data were collected by using tests of mathematic logical intelligence and mathematic achievement test. The analysis was made by using two-tailed variant analysis (ANAVA) followed by Tukey-test. The results indicated that (1) as a whole the students' mathematic learning achievement joining guided discovery instructional model based on student's worksheet was found higher than those joining a conventional instructional model with F1A;obser"ved=6.804>F666 o:0.05, (2) there was an interucted contribution between instructional model and mathematic logical intelligence towards mathematic learning achievement with F-obr".r"d:48.606>F-t"ne u,=0.05, (3) mathematic learning achievement of the students having higher mathematic logical intelligence and joining guided discovery instructional model based on student's worksheet was found higher than those joining a conventional instructional model with Q-observed:9.580 with o:0.05, (4) mathematic learning achievement of the students having lower mathematic logical intelligence and joining a conventional instructional model was found higher than those joining guided discovery instructional model based on student's worksheet with Q-o6."aygd:4.363 with u:0.05. Based on the finding it could be concluded guided discovery instructional model based on student's worksheet was found to contribute towards the mathematic learning achievement viewed from mathematic logical intelligence for the students class X SMA Negeri 1 Bangli. This finding provided essential implication that (l) every teacher was expected to be able to choose appropriate instructional models, one of them was guided discovery instructional model based on student's worksheet, (2) the teaching in implementing the above instructional model should also consider the students' level of intelligence.
