Burnout syndrome is a collection of physical symptoms, psychological and destructive mental fatigue as a result of the work that is monotonous and oppressive that found in human service profession such as nurses. This research is including to the quantitative research model, observational study correlation (non-experimental) type. This research was conducted on February 24 through March 24, 2014 toward associate nurses on MS and Ratna ward of Sanglah hospital. The total sample utilized 53 peoples with the total sampling technique. The tests are used to determine the relationship of independent variables and the dependent variable in this study are Kendal Tau test (p value<α, α=0,05). The results of this research are there is a significant relationship between workload and burnout syndrome (p value=0,006, r=0.371). Based on the result of this research, nursing department of Sanglah Hospital is expected to review the workload proportion to the number of nurses, and provide rewards to nurses who have a good performance and still provide motivation to other nurses too to increase the job satisfaction of nurses.
